Intergenerational Women's Bible Study
7:00-8:30PM at SBPC
Our ongoing MOPS/Women's Intergenerational Bible Study will be doign the Old Testemant portion of The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People this summer, followed by the New Testemant portion of the book starting in the fall. "'The Greatest Story Ever Told' is more than just a cliche. God has gone to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about: the story of the Bible, God's great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accessible chapters---and using the clear, accessible text of the NIV---this rendering of the Bible allows its stories, poems, and teachings to come together in a single, compelling read. The Story sweeps you into the unfolding grand narrative of the Scriptures, and like any good story, it is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption. From the foreword by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee: 'This book tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves his children, who established for them a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity. Each story in these 31 chapters reveals the God of grace---the God who speaks; the God who acts; the God who listens; the God whose love for his people culminated in his sacrifice of Jesus, his only Son, to atone for the sins of humanity.' NIV 2011. The New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible is the world's most popular modern-English Bible---easy to understand, yet rich with the detail found in the original languages." *From the book cover.
We would love to invite you to join us! We meet Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30pm at SBPC in Room B of the Discipleship Center. Our group is a welcoming and fun combination of followers, both new and long time in our faith journeys, most at various stages of motherhood. This next book study was chosen because many of us, newer in our faith, are looking for confidence in navigating The Bible and discussing it with others. You can expect lots of thought provoking conversations (whether it's your first time reading God's Word or your fiftieth!), laughter, and chocolate here and there!
