Service of Remembrance
Each year on the Saturday before All Saints Day, November 1, our Living Through Loss Ministry Team creates a Service of Remembrance where we are invited to reflect, pay tribute, and honor the cherished memories of those who have passed away. This year, the Service of Remembrance is on Saturday, Oct. 29. (For more details on The Service of Remembrance, read the left inside panel of Life Together.)
Extend a prayer...
- for this ministry team to be guided by the light of Holy Spirit as they provide a space for us to be comforted in our grief;
- that all of those who have suffered the loss of a loved one at any time in their lives, feel the comforting arms of Jesus wrapped around them;
- that the heaviness of grief on our hearts be lightened through God's mercy.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 119:50
