Casa de Amistad - House of Friendship
Center for Learning
Change the Future by investing two hours a week in the life of child in our neighborhood. On a weekly basis, our volunteers work with 200 underserved children and teens from our community. Casa de Amistad meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You choose the age (elementary through high school) and we'll match you up with an amazing student.
Casa de Amistad, Centro de Enseñanza is dedicated to fostering the education and character development of at-risk children and teens and their families from the North County coastal region. We are inspiring the next generation of leaders through mentoring, music, and character and leadership development.
Our Study Companion program is held weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with two sessions each day: an afternoon session from 4:15-5:45 PM and an evening session: 6:00-7:30 PM.
Volunteers can pick the session they would like to attend and the age of student(s) that they would prefer to work with.
How You Can Help
We ask that volunteers commit to at least ONE 1.5 hour session each week for a full semester in order to provide consistency for the student(s) they are paired with. As study companions, volunteers meet with their student(s) each week to help with homework and serve as a positive role model.
