Ladle Fellowship of First Presbyterian Church is a Christ-centered soup kitchen and has been helping the homeless and poor in downtown San Diego since 1983. We are committed to feeding both the body and the spirit by bringing the Word of God, as well as a hot meal to the homeless, poor, unemployed and elderly. Since Ladle Fellowship first began, more than 460,000 meals have been served. Each year we distribute over 9,000 articles of clothing, jackets and blankets.
With your support we provide weekly hot meals, a weekly Bible study, discipleship classes. We also provide emergency food supplies to more than 500 low-income seniors per month. Additionally, we offer ongoing pastoral counseling and the joy of reconnecting families by providing free phone calls home on the holidays.
Every Sunday afternoon a hot and nutritious meal is served to about 250 people. Clothing and hygiene items are supplied to those requesting them. Gospel music and a Bible message present our guests with the hope of salvation and a glimpse of a new way of living
